In November 2004, I helped my friend Melanie move from Las Vega, NV, back home to Birmingham, AL. I'd never been to the South before and figured that I, as an Asian guy from California would never get the chance to down south again. The pictures (and video!) chronicle our journey from Vegas to Birmingham as well as my solo trip to New Orleans (pre-Katrina), Tallahassee, FL, and Montgomery, AL, afterward.

I flew down to Las Vegas and Melanie and I drove to Birmingham through Albuquerque, Amarillo, Oklahoma City, Little Rock, Memphis, etc. I then drove down to New Orleans and then ultimately to Tallahassee before coming home. I've drive to Vegas before so with the exception of the segment from Tallahassee to Jacksonville (~180 miles), I've driven across the entire US (just not at the same time)
