Andy's Laws of Life
In random order:
-
Nothing is hard, but few things are truly easy.
-
It is unfair, but appearances do matter and people will judge you on how you
look.
-
Do what you want, but remember that you will be held accountable for all
that you do.
-
Guard your health. In the end, that's all you have.
-
In many instances, success comes not from creating a plan, but
rather from being able to improvise a solution when things do not go
according to plan.
-
Trying to prevent the inevitable is both futile and hugely wasteful.
-
Demand perfection.
-
No one cares about what you've done in the past -- they want
to know what you can do for them in the present.
-
Realize that most decisions are driven by economics.
COROLLARY: Money is made by solving problems in a way that few others can.
-
Be someone who does. The world has enough people who talk.
-
Unless you truly have limited aspirations, there will always be more work to
do so go home.
-
Always, always, always take the road less traveled by.
-
Do the things that scare you.
-
Always think for yourself because the crowd is often wrong.
-
Be educated and no one will ever own you.
- Always have ideas because the distance between insanity and genius is measured only by success.
- Unlike school, life is about asking the right questions, not giving the right answers.
- A job that has you so tightly around the balls/ovaries that you're
afraid to say "no" is a job that is not worth having.
- A slim chance of success always beats no chance of success.
More as I think of them...
